Listen up folks, I was lucky enough to get some really cool content sent over for the upcoming movie “City of Ember”. In case you missed my first post on “City of Ember” you can check that out here with the plot details and trailer.
First up are a few photos that were only available in lower quality and size. The first picture is of Saoirse Ronan (Atonement) as Lina Mayfleet, one of the children searching for the answer to Ember. From the trailer (which you can watch below in the widget) it appears she is carrying the map for escaping, called the “Instructions of Egress”.

Next up is a great photo from the set showing off just how detailed and well constructed the environment for “City of Ember” really is. Martin Laing, who worked as Art Director on Titanic and Production Designer for the upcoming Terminator 4, is taking on the role of Production Designer for “City of Ember”. So far it looks pretty awesome. I’m told the sets were created in a paint hall in Belfast, part of Ireland’s Titanic Quarter (translation?). Filming was also done in England, Romania, Prague, and Berlin.

There’s one more photo, which is an enlarged version of the header image at the top of this post. Who knows, you might enjoy Bill Murray as much as I do and happen to want an oversized photo of him as Mayor Cole.

This looks like it’s going to be a really great film to look forward to this fall. While you’re waiting, check out the widget below. It’s got the trailer embeded in it as well as a really cool map feature that shows how many people are checking out the widget and where they are. You can also check out City of Ember’s official movie website.
Big thanks to Amber, a City of Ember ambassador, for sending over this great material!
