Make Sudan an offer it can’t refuse
My favorite novelist, Mark Helprin, has just posted a strong opinion on what the U.S. might do to help the people of Darfur.

Mythic journeys, spiritual epics
One reason we cannot say definitively which films are the “best” is this: We all come to art with our own personal histories and experiences, and what we see in those works depends, in part, upon what we know and what we have yet to discover.
Animation expert Ken Priebe, author of The Art of Stop-Motion Animation, edited a music video this wekeend that reflects his sense of movies as a personal, spiritual journey. The films he’s chosen are popular favorites for many moviegoers. And the song is Switchfoot’s “Dare You to Move.” I met Ken at a recent Hollywood Jesus gathering, and I could tell that we have a lot to talk about. . . someday, when there’s a chance. Anyway, he emailed this to me, and I enjoyed the way he edited these clips together. I think you will too.
And if this inspires you, share which clips you’d choose, clips that have spoken to you about a spiritual journey.

Good impression
I assume you’ve seen this clip from Superhero the movie. It’s funny even the second time. This guy does a better Tom Cruise impression than, well… Tom Cruise.

HEMA: Somebody’s got a creative marketing team.
Have you ever seen a more creative shopping page on the web than this one?
Wait for the video to load. It’s worth it. Rube Goldberg would be proud.
